With a career behind the kit spanning nearly four decades, Go-Go Ray has built a reputation as a dynamic and versatile drummer equally at home on stage, in the studio, and behind the teaching kit. Based in Kansas City, Ray's career has taken him across a wide range of musical styles and collaborations. He has performed and worked with artists including Danielle Nicole, Samantha Fish, Tori Amos, Tech N9ne, Paul Gilbert, George Lynch, Anthony Gomes, Cameo, Sister Hazel, Curtis Salgado, Laurence Jones, Casi Joy, Brandon Miller, Tyson Leslie, Mike Dillon, Paul Nelson, Heather Newman, Sara Morgan, and many others. His work can be heard across an extensive catalog of recordings, including Danielle Nicole's The Love You Bleed, Brandon Miller's Bad Situation: Live in Kansas City and Virtue and Vice, Tech N9ne's Strangeulation, Tyson Leslie's Train Wrecks, Havoc & Heartbreak, and Mike Dillon's Go-Go Jungle albums Rock Star Bench Press and Battery Milk. In addition to performing and recording, Ray has spent more than 26 years teaching drums and sharing his experience with developing players. After 12 years teaching at Explorers Percussion in Kansas City, he now teaches at KC Drum Shop in Overland Park, Kansas. Ray's creativity and technical ability also earned him national recognition when he became the first-ever winner of theV-Drums USA Competition in Las Vegas in 2010. Whether he's playing blues, rock, funk, jazz, hip-hop, or something that lives somewhere in between, Go-Go Ray brings decades of experience without losing the energy and curiosity that made him pick up the sticks in the first place.
